DAVOS WCFA Recognitions
WCFA Davos Recognition Timeline · 2021 - 2026
International recognition for crisis communication, leadership, reputation management, and organizational resilience.
On Tuesday, December 12, the WCFA (World Communication Forum Association) DAVOS announced the winners of the DAVOS Communications Awards for 2023. ELES, the company where Katja Fašink headed communications, was declared the gold winner in the Effective Corporate Communication category by the jury president Arun Sudhaman: "ELES, the operator of the combined transmission and distribution electricity network, receives the first prize for exemplary communication strategies that bridge the gap between the energy industry and the wider public," Sudhaman emphasized.
"ELES effectively communicates its vision of a sustainable future, emphasizing the importance of the green transition and the integration of renewable energy sources. ELES actively participates in various conferences, actively engages women in the energy dialogue, builds smart grids and raises the standards of the energy congress industry, demonstrating its commitment to transparent communication on topics crucial to the energy sector. The presence of key figures such as Katja Fašink, Head of Corporate Communications at ELES, further underlines ELES' commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of complex issues related to the energy sector. Through insightful interviews, articles and collaborations, ELES has successfully established itself as a leading thought leader, making it a well-deserved recipient of the award," added Sudhaman.
In the category for the best crisis communications leader, the winner announced is Katja Fašink, head of corporate communications at ELES. Her effective leadership has positively impacted the company's reputation and reduced negative media coverage. In her unique role, she oversees all communication, documentation, and corporate events for the company she represents. Her documentation of corporate events and communications during complex crises shows that she's a reputable communicator. She has also successfully completed the Oxford Academy for Corporate Affairs, is a doctoral candidate, and leads a special group for corporate reputation at the FORBES Communication Council in the USA. She's recognized for her contributions to communication theory, and her leadership extends to international platforms where she chairs PRCA Slovenia and has served on judging panels for the PRCA Platinum Awards 2023, ICCO 2023, and BalCannes 2023. "Besides her professional work, she is an advocate for human and environmental rights in her free time," said jury president Arun Sudhaman about Katja Fašink.
Katja Fašink was head of corporate communications at ELES, the operator of Slovenia's combined transmission and distribution electricity network; president of the PRCA Southeast Europe Network Slovenia Chapter; and a Member Leader at the American FORBES Communications Council for corporate reputation. As a finalist among the most successful in the communications industry, she was nominated for the Reuters, Charge, and Energy Awards in those years and received DAVOS WCFA and PRO PR awards. Sudhaman is the CEO and editor-in-chief of PRvoke Media, editor of the Asia-Pacific Association of Communication Directors (APACD), and a steward at the Institute for Public Relations (IPR).
