SPORT 2026: On the Path of Winners
From Talent to Icon - BTC Ljubljana, Slovenia · 2026
A DELO Business Center discussion on the people and decisions behind sporting success.
At DELO's SPORT 2026 business conference at BTC Ljubljana, Katja Fašink joined the round table On the Path of Winners: From Talent to Icon - How to Create a Top Athlete. The discussion was part of the Sport is Business programme organized by DELO Newspaper and the DELO Business Center.
The round table was prepared under the guidance of Dr. Milena Fornazaric and Dr. Igor E. Bergant, who moderated the discussion. It examined how athletes develop from emerging talent into leading competitors and recognizable public figures.
Parents of elite athletes brought their perspectives: Darja Garnbret, mother of climber Janja Garnbret; Rebeka Zdešar, mother of alpine skier Žan Kranjec; and Janez Bijol, business leader and father of footballer Jaka Bijol. Former ski-cross athlete Filip Flisar also joined the panel.
Katja contributed her experience as the WBF-licensed manager of Slovenian world boxing champion Ema Kozin, focusing on the relationship between sporting achievement, personal brand, representation, and long-term career development.
The event concluded with a conversation between Milena Fornazaric and ski jumper Domen Prevc about performance, curiosity, and his continuing drive to learn.
